3 decades after parting ways with Jerry Jones on bad terms, Jimmy Johnson enters the Cowboys’ ring of honor

Jimmy Johnson cowboy ring of honorAfter nearly three decades since their bitter divorce, Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones avoided dwelling on the past, when they had led the Dallas Cowboys to back-to-back Super Bowl titles as coach and owner.

Both of them are now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the delay in Jones' decision to induct Johnson into the team's ring of honor is irrelevant at this stage.

The main thing is that Johnson is joining Tom Landry as the only coaches among the 19 players and two executives who belong to the elite group of one of the NFL's most legendary franchises.

Johnson was welcomed by the Hall of Fame "Triplets" who starred on his Super Bowl teams — quarterback Troy Aikman, running back Emmitt Smith and receiver Michael Irvin — for the ceremony at halftime of Saturday night’s regular-season home finale against the Detroit Lions.
