Jason Sanders demonstrated how to grow your grit in the final moments. The former All-Pro kicker had been sidelined on a Miami Dolphins team that scored more touchdowns than any other in the NFL.
Sanders had only 21 field goal tries all season, but he stepped up in the most crucial game of the year against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Sanders converted his fifth field goal of the game, a 29-yarder as time expired, and the Dolphins clinched a playoff berth with a 22-20 win over the Cowboys.
“I don’t expect to be an All-Pro every year,” said Sanders, who is 22 of 26 on field goals and 5 of 7 from 50 yards or more. “I just focus on making the kicks. I’m still doing my job.”
